1-54 LONDON 2026: Jonah Bulus, Deborah Segun and Mobolaji Ogunrosoye
From Structure to Sensation
O’DA Art brings together three artists whose practices diverge in form yet converge in their interrogation of structure, perception, and the shifting language of image-making.
Mobolaji Ogunrosoye works across photography and mixed media, constructing images that extend beyond the flat plane into sculptural, three-dimensional formats. Her practice is rooted in structure, where photographic fragments are layered, interrupted, and reassembled into spatial compositions. The image is no longer fixed; it becomes something to be built, navigated, and experienced, oscillating between presence and fragmentation.
Deborah Segun, often described as a cubist artist, pushes further into a language of expansion. Her figures, already grounded in distortion and multiplicity, now emerge with greater boldness, through heightened texture, richer surfaces, and more vivid colour. The works hold a dynamic tension between control and freedom, where the body is both deconstructed and reasserted, carrying an emotional weight that is at once intimate and expressive. In contrast.
Jonah Bulus moves fully into abstraction, removing the figure altogether while retaining its psychological charge. His paintings operate as immersive fields of colour, gesture, and rhythm, exploring the space between fear and courage. Rather than depicting experience, Bulus constructs environments in which emotion is encountered directly, where meaning is felt before it is understood.Together, the presentation unfolds as a progression, from the constructed image, to the reimagined figure, to the dissolution of form. It traces a movement away from representation toward sensation, asking not only what we see, but how we perceive, process, and internalise it.
