Joseph Ogbeide (b.1986, Benin) is an artist whose work explores human mind states and our shared need to derive and impose meaning in the world around us. His works often race between the use of simple lines and visceral strokes to depict baseline emotions that those who view the works may recognise as aspects of what it means to be human.
At the heart of Joseph’s artistic approach is a drive to inspire empathy, provoke introspection, and highlight the universal search for meaning in how we navigate the world. His works are created to be open-ended in way that invites the viewer to engage, reflect, and draw their own conclusions.
In addition to his artistic career, Joseph Ogbeide currently heads the Non-Fuel Revenue business at a leading Nigerian integrated energy company. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and Advertising from Covenant University, earned in 2006.
